Flamengo makes a millionaire proposal for Claudinho, but Zenit refuses! Know the details of the deal

Flamengo’s first proposal to hire midfielder Claudinho, from Zenit, was turned down by the Russian team. The red black carioca made an offer of R$ 15 million euros, about R$ 80 million reais for the athlete, but Zenit claims that this amount is the same that was paid in 2021 to remove the Brazilian from Red Bull Bragantino. Flamengo, knowing the athlete’s desire, will preach patience in the negotiation.

The club’s interest in the player came after some failed attempts to hire midfielder De La Cruz, from River Plate. Flamengo wants to take advantage of the fact that there is a clause for transferring Russian teams, because of the war with Ukraine. The team from Rio de Janeiro sounded out the athlete and between them everything is agreed to wear the Flamengo shirt for the rest of the season. Renewing the squad and thinking about a lack of the club, the investment in Claudinho is seen as essential, so that he has a relay with Arrascaeta.

Claudinho, who was doing his pre-season with the Russian team, played a friendly game against Fenerbahçe last Sunday and ended up getting injured, but according to Flamengo’s Vice-President of Football, Marcos Braz, it was nothing serious. The vice-president of the club also recalled that when Ayrton Lucas was hired by the club, he had a similar situation and was hired without physical problems.

With the mid-year window open, Flamengo still hasn’t given up on hiring River Plate’s midfielder. The attack on the Uruguayan was an opportunity that the club saw, in view of the fall of the Argentine team in Liberdadores. As River ended up going through a phase, the Argentine leaders play hard with the team from Rio, but Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel still don’t give up and will continue negotiating. If De La Cruz does not come in this window, the player could be one of the first reinforcements for the 2024 season.
