New Abilities, Bosses, and Encounters in the Game

Team Asobi brought platform gameplay that is an explosion of colors and creativity, with levels filled with new abilities, ingenious obstacles and special appearances by characters from the PlayStation universe.

The game preview showed five stages full of challenges, from completing levels to boss fights. And it's not just any boss, bro, it's a giant octopus of oceanic proportions. Just seeing the size of the galactic map makes it clear that Astro's new adventure will have dozens of different stages, with lots of bots to rescue.

Classic and Precise Controls – If you enjoyed Astro's Playroom, you'll feel right at home. Astro retains his classic moves, such as jumps, charged attacks, and the ability to hover with his laser. The changes to the core mechanics are subtle, but maintain the precise and responsive gameplay we already know.

New Skills and Items – In the Celestial Gardens, Astro can inflate his little body like a beach ball, helping him reach hidden heights. In Au-au para Toda Obra, a robotic dog offers a jet boost, serving both for attacks and for passing through walls.

Secrets and Exploration – The game rewards exploration with secrets hidden in underwater areas and other corners of the map. Finding and rescuing bots inspired by characters like Rivet from Ratchet & Clank is just an example of what to expect.

Wako Tako Boss Battle – The fight against the giant octopus, Wako Tako, is epic. Astro gains boxing gloves that stretch, allowing for distance punches and slingshot-style moves. The battle involves destroying the octopus' diving mask, and is full of action and strategy.

Special participations – PlayStation fans will go crazy with the special appearances. Astro meets robot versions of Kratos and Atreus, from God of War, and together they fly in the Dual Speeder. Immersion is guaranteed with the DualSense controller, which reflects the texture of the terrain and helps you solve puzzles.
