LinkedIn: how to block access to your data to train AI

Below we present two ways to block, using the smartphone app and the PC browser. Check it out!

Via PC (browser)

Time required: 3 minutes

  1. Access privacy settings

    Click on your profile photo in the top right corner of the screen. A menu will open; Select the option “Settings and Privacy.”

  2. Go to “Data Privacy”

    In the settings menu, access the “Data Privacy” tab on the left side of the screen.

  3. Data for AI Enhancement

    In the “How LinkedIn uses your data” section, select the “Data for Generative AI Enhancement” option. This setting will likely be enabled by default.

  4. Disable the option

    Read LinkedIn's explanation of using your data to improve AI. If you prefer to deactivate, click the button to turn off this function. Ready! The setting has been disabled.

Via cell phone (app)

Step 1: Access the menu
Open the LinkedIn app on your phone. To access the menu, click on your profile photo in the top left corner or drag the screen to the right. Then click “Settings” at the bottom of the menu.

Step 2: Access “Data Privacy”
In the settings menu, locate the “Data Privacy” section, which is approximately in the middle of the screen. Now, look for the “Data for Generative AI Enhancement” option.

Step 3: Disable the option
On this screen, you can disable or enable this permission according to your preference. When disabled, the setting will change from “Enabled” to “Disabled”.

This setting controls the training of the generative AI models used to create content. When enabled, LinkedIn and its affiliates may use your personal data and the content you create for this purpose. If you prefer not to participate, simply follow the steps above to disable this option.
