In a top scoring season, Yuri Alberto regrets Corinthians' phase

Corinthians drew with Internacional last Saturday night (5), at Neo Química Arena. With the 2-2 draw at home, Timão remained in the relegation zone of the Brasileirão and left a bitter taste for striker Yuri Alberto, scorer of the team's two goals in Itaquera.

With the goals scored against his former club, the striker reached his 20th goal of the season, his best career tally, “I'm very happy, I've had a very difficult year, even with goals and such. Thank God, today I passed my record, my best season in terms of goals with Inter was with 19″ (in 2021).

Corinthians' current phase is worrying

Despite the good individual year, Yuri has regretted the team's current phase in the Brazilian Championship: “It’s only this way, fighting, giving in, battling on the field, bringing out the best in each person, that we will get Corinthians out of this state”said the attacker.

In the match against Internacional, Corinthians were ahead on the scoreboard twice and conceded a draw in the final minutes of the game. The result prevented the team from leaving Z-4 in this round.

“We were very, very, very close to this victory. Before this break, it would be important to get out of this zone, which is something bad.”commented the attacker as he left the field.

FIFA date break

The draw in Itaquera kept Ramón Díaz's team in 18th place in the competition table, and will remain there, at least, until the 16th, when Timão returns to the field against Athlético-PR again at home. The ten-day break without games is due to the pause in the competition for the FIFA date.

Despite the bad moment in the Brasileirão, the Corinthians team is in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil and will face Flamengo on the 20th, in the second match of the clash. In the first meeting of the teams, the Cariocas won 1-0, at Maracanã.
