Rock in Rio is already making its contribution to boosting the fight against hunger in the country. In partnership with the NGO “Ação da Cidadania”, the festival promotes the “Christmas without Hunger” campaign to collect donations that will bring food to several Brazilian families in need. Donations between the 7th and 25th of December, starting at R$20, will be entered into the competition for a pair of tickets to the next edition of Rock in Rio, in September 2022.

In total, 250 pairs of tickets will be drawn and donations must be made via the website: natalsemfome.org.br/rockinrio

According to the festival organizers, with the growing number of people going hungry in the country, it is extremely important to collaborate in order to alleviate the situation.

“After a long period of social distancing, Christmas this year is even more important for us to celebrate and be with those we love. But beyond that, we need to do something to minimize a scenario that has become much worse during this period, which is that of people going hungry. We want to provide a better end of the year for many families who are facing difficulties in their homes. The idea of donating tickets came from the large number of people who want to purchase a ticket to be in Cidade do Rock in 2022. We believe that the ticket draw, which is our biggest asset, is a good way to encourage fans even more of the festival to participate in this chain for good and take food to those in need“, commented Roberto Medina, president of Rock in Rio.

The festival will activate its entire network of communication channels to encourage Rio residents to donate to Citizenship Action.

Confirmed shows

For 2022, those confirmed for Palco Mundo already have names: day 2 (Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Megadeth and Sepultura + Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira), day 3 (Post Malone, Marshmello, Jason Derulo and Alok), day 4 (Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and Iza), day 8 (Guns N' Roses, Måneskin), day 10 (Coldplay, Camila Cabello, Bastille and Djavan), day 11 (Dua Lipa and Ivete Sangalo).

On the Sunset Stage, the attractions that have already been confirmed are Joss Stone, Corinne Bailey Rae, Gloria Groove and Duda Beat, who will perform on September 8th. CeeLo Green on the 10th, and Ludmilla and Macy Gray, closing the 11th.

The festival will take place on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th of September 2022, in Cidade do Rock, in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Park.
