Ed Sheeran and Fireboy DML release the video for 'Peru'

One of the highlights of the luxurious Nigerian music scene, Fireboy DML, sings about an immersive and borderless love, which goes from Johannesburg to London, from Miami to San Francisco, in a new version of his hit “Peru”, in partnership with the hitmaker and composer Ed Sheeran. This is a YBNL Nation / EMPIRE release that arrives with the music video, which already has almost 20 million views.

“It was incredible to know that Ed Sheeran is a fan of my sound and it's a dream to have him on this song”, said the Nigerian. “This is not only an exciting time for me, but also for the afrobeats movement. I hope this is the first of many collaborations with Ed and other artists around the world”, concluded the singer.

The Nigerian admitted that the single “Peru” took less than an hour to make, which was out of his comfort zone. The singer has always carried out his entire production process in a slow and time-consuming manner so that, according to him, “avoid mistakes“. Because he left out perfectionism in the single, Fireboy DML admits that he didn't overthink everything and left “the music flow in order to enjoy the process“.
