Happy launch in Visualizer

Last Thursday (01), party girl Kesha continued her second “comeback”with the launch, on its YouTube channel, of the “Happy”the third released from the album “Gag Order”. The album, made in partnership with Rick Rubin, debuted in May this year and is marked by analogies to his freedom, after the end of his contract with the producer. “Dr. Luke.”

“I want to make people squirm a little in their seats,” reveals Kesha to NME.

Kesha, previously with a dollar sign in place of the “S”became known in 2009 with the single “TikTok”, released through Kemosabe by producer “Dr. Luke.” The record label was responsible for Kesha's first two albums, until in 2014, the singer filed a lawsuit against the producer, alleging that he sexually, physically and emotionally abused her for more than 10 years.

Today, 9 years after the first lawsuit, Kesha uses not only the song “Happy”, like the album “Gag Order” to allude to his public fight for justice and liberation.

“Making this album allowed me to fall back in love with music, and it’s absolutely more vital than ever for me.”the singer told NME.

In the last visualizer published, it is possible to find some of the analogies mentioned, such as in the scene in which Kesha manages to escape the plastic covering their faces, in other words, suffocating and silencing them. In addition to this, references can be seen in the lyrics of the song itself, as in this the singer talks about how she was not ready for the situations she faced, how she remembers not knowing that “anyone could be evil” and how I would like to change everything that happens to me, despite saying I can't and preferring “laugh so as not to cry”.

In an interview with NME, the singer stated that the “Gag Order” came with the intention of showing people the feelings and emotions, which she found uninteresting in the eyes of the public, as she was seen as “the girl who wrote Tik Tok”: “You know what, no, I'm in my 30s, I’m going to live for many, many years, so I don’t want to become a parody of who I once was.”
