Jean Lucas is back! Santos agrees to sign Monaco midfielder

Monaco accepted Santos’ offer to hire 25-year-old midfielder Jean Lucas. Now, the Vila Belmiro team is waiting for the player, who is currently on vacation in France, to undergo medical examinations and finalize contractual issues between the club and the player. There is still no information on the agreed amounts for the purchase of the Monaco player, who has a contract with the French club until June 2026.

Jean Lucas had a brief spell at Santos in 2019, when he joined the club on loan from Flamengo for half a season. At the time, the player pleased the club and the fans, who are waiting for the player to be signed definitively. For this reason, Jean Lucas was an old desire of the team, which even made a loan offer earlier this year, something that was denied by the French club.

In the last season, 2022/2023, the player was not well used by Monaco, participating in only ten matches for the club without scoring a goal or assisting. In total, wearing the shirt of the French club, Jean Lucas has played 49 matches, with two goals and two assists.

The return to Brazil, if the negotiations continue, will be a great opportunity for the club and the player. Santos is going through a period of reform in the squad to recover in the Brazilian Championship after a bad start to the season, and this week moved the ball market with reinforcements for the team.
