Micheli Machado Estrela Muse of Grande Rio in Sapuca

At the invitation of Grande Rio, actress and comedian Micheli Machado celebrates her debut as the new muse of the current champion of the Rio Carnival Special Group, which this year brings the samba-enredo in honor of singer Zeca Pagodinho. With a confirmed presence in the featured cars, the artist who was recently successful in the comedy group of “Todas as Flores”, playing the charismatic Chininha, comments on the emotion of receiving the invitation and reveals her expectations for the parade.

“I was born with samba in my heart and I have always been passionate about Carnival, so receiving the invitation from Grande Rio to be a muse this year made me very happy and excited for the opportunity! It is a pleasure to represent the school, even more so with the samba in honor of the legendary Zeca Pagodinho, a singer that I greatly admire”, celebrates Micheli.

Grande Rio will be the second school to parade at the Sambódromo da Marquês de Sapucaí, on 2/19 (Sunday) for the Independent League of Samba Schools of Rio de Janeiro.

“I am focused on rehearsals and preparations to do my best at Sapucaí and I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to celebrate this day, which will be beautiful and special. I couldn’t be happier and the expectation is to win the second consecutive title in Greater Rio!”, concludes the artist.

Micheli is the first black woman in Latin America to have a stand-up special on Netflix, “Lugar de Mulher”, a pioneer in comedy, she is also the founder of the group “Humor de Salto Alto”, nominated by Folha de São Paulo as one of the best stand-up shows in Brazil, in 2010. In addition to her most recent roles on TV, notably Chininha, in “Todas as Flores”, the actress also starred in the film “Quatro Amigas Numa Fria”, alongside the actresses Fê Paes Leme, Maria Flor and Priscila Assum.
