Billie Eilish's 'Happier Than Ever' album surpasses 3 billion streams

The album “Happier Than Ever”, by Billie Eilish, surpassed 3 billion streams on Spotify. It is the singer's second studio album and was released on July 30, 2021.

Eilish wrote the album with her frequent collaborator, her brother Finneas O'Connell, who produced the album himself. The project is a self-reflection during the COVID-19 pandemic that served as a great inspiration for the development of the album.

Contains seven songs that were released in promotion of the album, such as “Therefore I Am”, “Your Power”, “My Future”, “Lost Cause”, “NDA”the title track and “Male Fantasy”. The first three managed to reach the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100; “Therefore I Am” was the most successful song on the album, after “My Future” in ranking 6th and “Your Power” in the 10th ranking. The animated music video “My Future” was directed by Australian Andrew Onorato, and soon received comments from the Teen Vogue team reporting that the song “shows the growth of how Billie is looking at the world.”

The clip “Happier Than Ever” reached over 2 million views and premiered on July 30, 2021.

It is worth highlighting that, “Happier Than Ever” debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 as the second number-one album in the United States and topped the charts in 27 countries.

The album contains pop, rock, rhythm and blues, downtempo, techno, electropop and jazz-influenced elements, starting from the optimistic sound. “Happier Than Ever” is based heavily on Eilish's rise to fame and the downsides that come with it. Upon release, the album received praise from music critics for its restrained, stylistic production and insightful lyrics. During the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, the album and its title track received a total of 7 nominations, including Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

Additionally, there was even a Disney+ documentary titled, “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles”was released on September 3, 2021. Watch the trailer:

The documentary shows intimate performances of all the songs on the album in order of sequence, the show, which features animations and a dream tour of the singer's hometown and aimed to promote the album. “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles”, received a nomination for Best Music Film at the 2022 Grammys.

To the delight of fans, singer Eilish will be on her fifth tour, titled “Happier Than Ever, The World Tour”will present in Europe, Oceania and North America in 2022.
