Will Smith's ex-wife says she had disagreements in raising their son between the actor and Jada Smith

Actress Sheree Zampino, married to Will Smith between 1992 and 1995, spoke on the podcast “Behind The Velvet Rope” in excerpts from an interview that began to be released on July 25, that he did not initially agree with the way Will and Jada Smith participated in the upbringing of their son, Trey Smith, 29: “They are distinct dynamics, three different personalities, each with their own beliefs and practices”the actress said about Jada and Will. “At some points we butted heads and it wasn’t nice”.

“We do what needs to be done because at the end of the day it’s all about the kids. We have to be accountable for them. And when there’s mutual respect, it’s easier. With Jada, as long as she treats Trey right, we’re fine. And we’re fine. And she treats him right and loves him.”said Sheree.

Although everything worked out in the end, Sheree admits that at first her relationship with Jada wasn't the best: “I won’t say it was easy. I think in the beginning, right at the beginning, I followed my mother’s advice: ‘My heart is exclusively for my son. He comes first. Always. He comes first and nothing else matters.’ So we just respected that and put the kids first, we didn’t deprive them of anything, especially a good relationship between them, with me and Jada.”.

Sheree concluded by saying that she is very grateful for what the two were able to do and also said that she would not go into further details, again saying that she felt grateful that the three siblings, Trey, Jaden and Willow Smith get along well.

When asked about the 2022 Oscars controversy where Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock, Sheree laughed and said she wouldn't comment on the incident on the podcast.
