New “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be a reboot, producer confirms

The release of the first film “Pirates of the Caribbean – The Curse of the Black Pearl”, in the 2000s, was an absolute success. However, the big fuss is found these days. It was announced that the franchise will have a reboot, with producer Jerry Bruckheimer. In an interview with comicbookBruckheimer stated: “It's hard to say. You don't know when everyone will be able to be together. Top Gun has a brilliant, iconic actor. How many movies will he do before the new Top Gun? I can't say. But Pirates will be a reboot, so it's easier to put together plays. you don't have to wait for certain actors”.

The iconic franchise

In 2003, the first film “The Curse of the Black Pearl” in the franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean” which grossed more than US$4.5 billion with the release of 5 films. After the success of the first film, Walt Disney Pictures revealed that “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest” was in production, being released three years later. The second film was a success and broke several records. The third film in the series, “At the End of the World”, hit theaters in 2007.

In September 2008, Depp signed on for the fourth film in the series, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”, and the fifth film was released in 2011 in the United States. Also with great box office results.

The last film in the saga was “Salazar's Revenge”, from 2017 and brought Javier Bardem as the big villain.

The new film

For the new film, the participation of star Margot Robbie was considered, but the project was cancelled. The new film in the franchise does not yet have a title or release date, nor has it been announced who the cast will be. It is also not known about Jhonny Deep's presence in the film.
