Without fanfare, Disney+ makes controversial change to plans with ESPN
– Tv Show 2025 | Games | movies and animate story, all in afri Latest have fun!!

Subscribers to Disney+ Standard plans with ads and without ads will have their offers worsened from December 11th this year — without any price reduction. On its support page, the platform announced this week that this will be the deadline for the availability of its sports channels in these plans.

According to the company, from that date You will need to pay for the Premium plan to access the ESPN and ESPN 3 channels. Prior to these changes, both, as well as select events, could still be accessed by those paying for entry plans.

Disney+ will restrict EPSN content to the most expensive plan

In addition to providing the information on its support page, Disney+ also began notifying some customers about the change via email messages. According to the company, some selected events will still be released for Standard and Standard plans with announcementsbut there are no further details about them at the moment.

  • However, the company should not reduce the price charged for the plans, despite the worsened services;
  • In Brazil, the Standard version with ads costs R$27.99 per month, while the one without ads goes up to R$46.90;
  • The Disney+ Premium subscription, which becomes the exclusive home of ESPN channels, costs R$66.90 per month;
  • The more expensive plan also brings better image quality, Dolby Atmos audio and more options for downloads and broadcasts on simultaneous screens;
  • So far, Disney+ has not explained the reasons for the change in plans.

The removal of ESPN channels from Standard streaming plans comes just a few months after the service underwent a price adjustment. In June this year, the platform had increases of up to 7% in its offers, in a decision that did not affect the amount charged for the most basic option with ads.

Disney+ brings exclusive access to the main European leagues

With the change, Disney+ must force its subscribers who are fans of European football to pay more for its service. ESPN stands out for providing exclusive access to games from some of the main foreign leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga and Italy’s Serie A TIM.
