Green Day announced on Thursday (21) the cancellation of the show they would do at the Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on September 9. The decision was made due to the schedule conflict with the match between Botafogo and Vasco, valid for the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Cup, scheduled for September 11. Band’s agenda remains maintained in other cities

Despite the cancellation in Rio, Green Day has confirmed that it continues with the other tour dates in Brazil. The group will be one of the main attractions of The Town festival in Sao Paulo on September 7th. Then performs in Curitiba on the 12th.

The announcement generated frustration among Rio fans, who were waiting for the band’s return to the city. However, the decision was justified as necessary to avoid logistics risks and ensure both the safety of the structure and the holding of the football match, considered of great importance.
