Adidas SL 72 sneakers take over the streets again in new trend

Last year, influencers and celebrities revived the Adidas Samba, a model from the 1950s that was a staple in many people's looks. However, now, in the second half of 2024, another older model from the brand has started to take over trends on social media: the Adidas SL 72. Check it out.

Adidas SL 72 is back on the streets

Launched in 1972, the Adidas SL 72 was created for runners at the time, as street racing had become a boom among people. The acronym “SL” stands for Superlight, which is why the shoe weighs less than other shoes and promises to revolutionize the world of running, as it is more comfortable. The shoe’s EVA midsole offers better cushioning, causing less impact than other shoes.

On social media, running training videos have been a regular occurrence, gaining a new boom, just like in the 70s. However, the return of the SL 72 has nothing to do with running, but rather with fashion and comfort. This is all thanks to Bella Hadid, an American model and fashionista who launches several trends. Hadid was in New York to celebrate her new campaign with Adidas and was photographed wearing the SL 72 model.

This isn't the first time Bella Hadid has launched a trend. Last year, the model was seen wearing the Samba model, also by Adidas. As a result, the model became more popular in the brand's stores. The SL 72 model can be found in Adidas stores, including e-commerce, for R$599.99.
