Dragic says goodbye to the basketball court and Nikola Jokic steals the spotlight

The Slovenian played in the NBA for 15 years and at the end of 2023, at the age of 38, he announced that he would soon retire. For his farewell, the player himself chose to hold a charity basketball game in his home country and invited friends he had made throughout his career.

The game was called “Night of the Dragon”, a reference to his own nickname which is “dragon” and was attended by names such as Steve Nash, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic who stole the public's attention with his magnificent plays and charisma. Bosh had not played since 2017 and left the media happy with his appearance.

Jokic made a jumper for himself, and a three-pointer.

Dragic's Career

When he turned 23, the player left Slovenian football to conquer the North American courts and had spells with San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls and finally with Milwaukee Bucks, the team where he ended his professional career. He participated in the All-Star Game in 2018 and won the award for the most improved player in the NBA in 2014.

With the Slovenian national team, Dragic won the European title in 2017. As a way of honoring the player, his jersey number, 3, was also retired by the team.

Nikola Jokic has a promising future

The Serbian player is considered one of the best of the moment and is on his way to becoming a basketball star alongside LeBron James and Stephen Curry. He currently plays as a center for the NBA's Denver Nuggets, a team he has played for since 2015.

A three-time NBA champion, Jokic is also charismatic with his fans and teammates, and at Dragic's charity game he gained all the attention for his plays and jokes.
