An Epic Spider-Man Filming Partnership

Actor Tom Holland, just 25 years old, helped the experienced Jake Gyllenhaal, 40, on the sets of Spider-Man: Far From Home. The famous “Friendly neighborhood” supported the star Jake during the recordings, taking into account that Gyllenhaal was very nervous because it was the first time he would be doing a film of Marvel proportions. Despite being very young, only 23 years old when the film was released, Tom has already acted as Spider-Man since 2016, when he made his first appearance in Civil War.

Jake revealed this “behind the scenes story” in an interview with Howard Stern. When asked about the experience of acting in a film about the arachnid hero, the Hollywood star admitted that it was not an easy task. “It’s tough, man. This kind of acting is tough because it’s a big world. And I came into it in the middle of a race, with the train moving. I usually join[projects]at the beginning so I can understand them.”

To illustrate this difficulty, Gyllenhaal talked about his first day on set. The star revealed that he had difficulty remembering his own lines, which led him to ask the young protagonist for help. “I remember the first day of filming…. (laughs) I couldn’t remember my lines, I was stuck and they were like, ‘Wow.’ So I went to Tom Holland and said, ‘Dude, help me out.’ And he said, ‘It’s okay, man. Just relax.’ It was like he was me in a lot of situations. So I finally got it.”he recalls.

Finally, Jake says it was a pressure for him, because he is passionate about the hero and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). “I put a lot of pressure on myself because I love this world. I’m not going to come in as a snob actor saying, ‘I’ve done 16 movies, I know what I’m doing.’ I’m going to throw myself into every project… I love Spider-Man, I love this world.”he confesses.

Everything indicates that Jake and Tom will return to act together in the new film of the powerful and responsible hero, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which, according to the trailer released, will have the return of the villain “Mystery” and with it, Gyllenhaal's return to the MCU. In addition to Mysterio, other villains should appear in the long-awaited film, such as Dr. Octopus played by actor Alfred Molina.
