Ricky Martin's nephew withdraws sexual harassment complaint against the singer

Ricky Martin testified in court this Thursday (21), after being accused of sexually abusing his own nephew, accusations say that the incestuous relations lasted about 7 months.

The 21-year-old dropped the charges during the virtual trial that took place on Thursday.

According to TMZ, people close to the singer said the judge dismissed the temporary restraining order he had issued a week ago.

“As we had anticipated, the temporary protective order was not extended by the court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to drop the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure,” the source said.

In a statement sent to TMZ, Ricky Martin's legal team says with conviction that the whistleblower was nothing more than a “troubled individual” who made false allegations without having any way to prove them.

On his social media, the singer published an official statement with the caption “The truth prevails”.

The allegations of abuse and incest against Martin came to light earlier this month when the nephew obtained a restraining order against his uncle. However, the identity of the accuser was revealed a week ago.

The alleged accuser would be Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, who was identified by the singer's brother, Eric Martin.

The nephew reportedly revealed that they had sexual relations for 7 months and that his uncle did not accept the end, starting to stalk him.

Ricky Martin is not, has never been, and will never be involved in any type of romantic or sexual relationship with his nephew. This idea is not only a lie, it is disgusting,” the singer's lawyer said in a statement to the website Vulture.

Ricky Martin called the allegations false and disgusting. If the courts had confirmed Martin's abuse, the actor could have been sentenced to at least 50 years in prison.
