Dorival's preliminary list for the qualifiers includes players who play in Brazil

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) sent a letter to the clubs last Friday (16) informing which players are on Dorival Júnior's pre-list for the matches against Ecuador and Paraguay, in the qualifiers. With highlights from Palmeiras and Botafogo, a quartet from Flamengo and a pair of midfielders from Fluminense, the list also includes highlights from the European clubs, which started the season last week.

Highlights of Palmeiras x Botafogo present

Due to the start of the European season, a preliminary list of 30 to 40 names was drawn up before Dorival's official call-up, which will include 23 players. Rivals in the round of 16 of the Libertadores, Palmeiras and Botafogo, were informed of the presence of their main gems on the yellow-and-yellow team's radar: Luiz Henrique and Estêvão.

In addition to the young duo, four Flamengo players are present: defender Fabrício Bruno, full-back Ayrton Lucas, midfielder Gerson and striker Pedro, the top scorer in Brazilian football this season. Fluminense's defensive midfield duo, André and Martinelli, are also on the list.

Premier League duo and Real Madrid trio on the rise

Despite Dorival Júnior's promising start to the national team, with good games against England and Spain, the team's performance in the Copa América was well below expectations. To change this scenario, the national team coach seems to be betting on the integration of players from the same league, which was seen in the United States, where he used an “English” midfield, with players who play in the English Premier League.

In the preliminary list, Dorival included two Brazilian names from the Premier League: Brighton's striker João Pedro and Fulham's midfielder Andreas Pereira, who was present at the Copa América. In addition to the duo, Real Madrid's Brazilian trio: Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Éder Militão, were also confirmed during an interview with Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid's coach.

The official list is expected to be announced by next Friday (23). Brazil will face Ecuador on the 6th at Couto Pereira and Paraguay on the 10th in Asunción. After six games, the Brazilian team is in 7th place, with two wins, one draw and three losses.
