The Simpsons series renews contract with FOX and completes 34 seasons

The Simpsons, or in Brazil, The Simpsons, is the most successful and longest-running animated series on American TV prime time. Creator Matt Groening delivered the first episode to Fox on December 17, 1989. The story of Homer and his family is a caricature of middle-class American style as preferences, culture and even trends created in all these years spent on TV and at the movies. The main scene takes place in the fictional Springfield, where family man Homer and his wife Marge live with their children Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The creation was commissioned at the time by producer James Brooks to be just another animated series part of The Tracey Ullman program. With its success, it gained space and a life of its own, becoming the first animated sitcom for the popular North American prime time slot.

In 2023, the series will reach an impressive 757 episodes. Season 34 will be broadcast on September 25th and anyone who wants to watch previous seasons can access them on Star +. According to author Matt Groening, the atmosphere is emotional, due to the milestones achieved by the famous series and as always, it promises new things, such as Bart's tenth birthday, celebrated repeatedly in every season. The Simpsons has a long list of awards, including 34 Emmys, 7 People's Choice Awards, 34 Annie Awards, on TV. In cinema, in 2012 he received an Oscar nomination for the short The Longest Daycare and in 2007 he reached close to six hundred million in revenue in American theaters for the feature film The Simpsons the Movie.

Not everything was a success for the sitcom, which received a lot of criticism for its choice of casts that represented different ethnicities. Fox recently renewed the series Family Guy (seasons 19 and 20) and Bob's Burgers (seasons 12 and 13). But The Simpsons is the network's biggest hit, with approximately 7 million viewers, adding up all the platforms it is broadcast on.

The troubled family recently appeared in an animated music video with singer Bad Bunny on the track “Te Deseo Lo Mejor.” Bad plays Cupid in the story, who is challenged to reconcile the couple Homer and Marge. The song is part of the album El Último Tour del Mundo, nominated for Best Urban Music Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
