Kanye West gets kicked out of famous brand's office after trying to partner with a brand

American rapper Kanye West has been involved in controversy in recent weeks. After having his contract with Adidas terminated after being accused of anti-Semitism, Kanye was reportedly kicked out of the office of a famous sneaker brand. This Wednesday (26), the singer went to Skechers headquarters, unannounced in an attempt to promote a collaboration with the brand's owners. However, according to TMZ, Kanye had to be escorted out of the office by two executives.

In the statement sent by the company to the American website, it says that Kanye arrived without prior notice or invitation and that he does not intend to close a partnership with the rapper. “Considering that Ye was involved in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his group out of the building after a brief conversation,” explained the note. The company added that it condemns the star's recent comments and does not tolerate anti-Semitism or hate speech, so it has no intention of working with Kanye West.

Ye, as he is also known, made comments about the Jewish community on Twitter that caused outrage in recent weeks, to the point that his account on the network was blocked. Skechers is a company founded by a Jewish family, as revealed by TMZ. Due to the negative repercussion, in addition to Adidas, GAP and Balenciaga were other famous brands that broke contracts. Vogue and Anna Wintour announced that they will no longer enter into partnerships and the agency CAA ended its representation of the singer. Even Kanye's lawyers abandoned his defense.

As a result, the rapper lost his billionaire title, with the end of his contract with Adidas. Kanye lost about US$ 1.5 billion (approximately R$ 7.9 billion) of his net worth. The partnership with the Yeezy line existed since 2013 and the company received about 4% to 8% of sales. When participating in the podcast “Drink Champs”, the rapper stated that “the thing between me and Adidas is that I can say anti-Semitic things and Adidas can’t let me go”. Adidas, a German company, took a stand a few weeks later declaring the end of the partnership. Since then, other companies have taken a similar stance against the prejudiced comments made by Ye.
