Taylor Swift breaks records with the release of Speak Now (Taylors Version) and becomes the artist with the most albums on the Billboard chart

The singer Taylor Swift continues to break records with the release of the album “Speak Now (Taylor's Version)”. Released on the platforms last Friday, (07) on the first day it reached first place on Spotify, becoming the album with the highest number of streams on the platform, reached the top 10 globally on YouTube in less than 24 hours and sold more than 640 thousand copies in six days (July 7 to 12) in the USA, with 450 thousand in traditional media sales and more than 240 thousand copies on vinyl. According to data from Luminate – a data analysis platform for the music and film industry -, “Speak Now (Taylor's Version)” had the highest number of vinyl sales since Luminate began counting sales in 1991.

The reinterpretation, which has 22 tracks, six of which are new and two of which contain special appearances – such as singer Hayley Williams on the track “Crumbling Castles” and the band Fall Out Boy on the track entitled “Electric Touch” -, continues to have the biggest opening week of any album released this year and marks the biggest week in vinyl sales in modern times, second only to the “Midnights” LP in 2022 which had around 575 thousand units sold.

The clip released to represent the new era was “I can see you”, which has more than 15 million views on YouTube.

If the album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart later this month, Taylor's tally of No. 1 albums will increase to 12, surpassing Barbra Streisand, who has 11 of her albums on the charts, making her the female artist with the most albums on the chart and tying Drake, who currently holds the No. 3 spot on the chart, behind only The Beatles and rapper Jay-Z.
