Flamengo only depends on Plata's signature to hire him

Gonzalo Plata, 23, is very close to becoming Flamengo's new signing in this transfer window. The player plays for Al-Sadd, from Qatar, and Flamengo has already closed a deal for the Ecuadorian, and is now waiting for the player to sign the contract before they can announce it.

Flamengo will progressively pay the athlete's value

Initially, Flamengo will pay 4.25 million dollars, around 24 million reais, and then will pay the rest progressively, plus targets established in the contract. In total, 9.1 million dollars will be paid, which would be 51.9 million reais, in addition to 30% profit to Al-Sadd from a possible sale of the Flamengo player in the future.

The negotiation for Plata was very slow. It took the two clubs some time to reach an agreement, as the Qatari team played hardball and made some suggestions during the signing that Flamengo didn't like, which is why Plata will arrive a little later than expected.

Gonzalo Plata is an Ecuadorian right-winger who has emerged very promisingly at Independiente del Valle. The player, who played at the 2022 World Cup, has previously played for Sporting, from Portugal, and Real Valladolid, from Spain.

Flamengo signing good players

Flamengo has been busy in this transfer window. The team has already brought back Michael from Al-Hilal, who has already scored a goal on his debut; they brought in left-back Alex Sandro, who was without a club; and they also brought in Carlos Alcaraz, 21, who was at Southampton in England. There had been some reports of a possible deal with Dutch striker Memphis Depay, but apparently the deal didn't go through.
