Renato praises Grêmio’s victory
Grêmio’s coach, Renato Portaluppi, elected the team after the victory over Cuiabá on Sunday night (30) by 2-1 at the Pantanal arena. Despite the team not being able to create many chances for goals, the two opportunities they had were not wasted. Renato commented on the team’s lack of creativity, but added that it was not something exclusive to Grêmio, as the opponent also created little, but he highlighted that the team is taking advantage of these few chances and that is important.
Another point addressed in the press conference was the high temperature in Cuiabá, in both halves of the game a technical stop was necessary to hydrate the athletes, even with the match taking place in the late afternoon at 18:30.
“It’s not an easy game, but this victory away was important, mainly because of the heat, because our opponent stayed here for practically eight, 10 days, while Grêmio traveled and got worn out, but we achieved our objective, which was the three points”highlighted Renato Portaluppi.

Grêmio has been facing large displacements in recent weeks due to the sequence of games on its calendar. Renato extolled the superte that the team has been receiving from the board, as they are making chartered flights available to their players and coaching staff.
Vina opened the scoring for the Gaucho team just nine minutes into the first half, with a very comfortable game without many goal opportunities, only after the draw by Cuiabá that the match started to have more movement. In a corner kick from the right, Alan Empereur headed it into the middle, the Grêmio defender was unable to clear it and Marllon pushed it towards the net. It was a first half without much creativity from both teams. In the second half, Grêmio looked more for the game and the first victory away from home and at twenty-two minutes Everton pushed to the back of the net.
With the end of the match, Grêmio conquered its first victory away from home in the Brasileirão, and reached six points, occupying the seventh position of the championship. Now Grêmio is preparing to face Red Bull Bragantino on Sunday (7) at the Arena, in Porto Alegre.
