Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott in new poster for the film “All Of Us Strangers”

This Thursday (28), the studio Searchlight Pictures released a new unreleased poster for the film “All Of Us Stranger”s,” starring Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott. The image manages to convey a deep feeling, everything that the drama will bring.

The film follows the story of Adam, who, upon developing a romance with Harry, finds himself immersed in his memories of the past, drawing himself back to the house where he grew up. He seeks reconnection with his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), who died 30 years ago.

A deep narrative

Actors Paul Mescal (“Aftersun”) and Andrew Scoot (“Fleabag”) will play an intense couple in “All of Us Strangers”, a film directed by Andrew Haigh (“Weekend and 45 Years”). The film will feature a very sentimental story, especially for the director, whose setting is set in his childhood home, according to Vanity Fair.

The director gave a kind of tour of his childhood home, pointing out his bedroom, his parents' favorite place to sit and places that hold particularly vivid memories. His plan was to leave the interior looking like it did before. The small house in the London suburb on the outskirts of Croydon became a more significant and sentimental location in Haigh's new film. A childhood home that will act as a portal to the past.

Every detail was very well thought out. The work is slightly adapted from the novel by Taichi Yamada (1987), titled “Strangers”, set in Japan, the film explored the director's most expansive vision, with a moving character study that moves between fiery romance and painful trauma.

“Suddenly dealing with my own past at the same time as telling a story about someone else dealing with their past – I'm not sure if it was foolish, emotionally or mentally,” Haigh said. “But it was a cathartic strange experiment.”

Great expectations

The film is being highly anticipated and acclaimed even before its premiere, due to the cast's favorites. They both have fantastic experience in the cinematic world. Scott known for “Fleabag” and nominated for Emmy for “Black Mirror”; Mesclau, nominated for Emmy and to Oscar by “Normal People” and “Aftersun”. To compose the cast we will also have Claire Foy, winner of two Emmys by “The Crown”; and Jamie Bell, winner of the BAFTA for “Billy Elliot” and remembered for “Rocketman”. A great cast that creates a lot of expectations.

The film will feature many emotional fragments from the director. “I wanted everything to feel very integrated, like our memories and how we go through life – the pain we carry is always there, hidden, and can emerge and feel incredibly real.”, said Haigh. “All of Us Strangers” opens in foreign theaters on December 22. However, there is still no information about his arrival in Brazil.
