Anitta reveals plans to retire from music and invest in a new career

In an interview for The Wall Street Journal's “Innovators' Edition” this Tuesday (25), Anitta revealed that she intends to end her musical career in the next five or six years to start investing in her acting career.

When asked if she would continue performing forever, the singer vehemently denies it and explains that for her it doesn't make sense to continue doing something that won't make new dreams come true, “I've already done the impossible [na música]which is bigger than the number 1?” he asks.

Anitta says that after the end of her musical career she hopes to continue exploring her dream of acting and says she is anxious to feel “butterflies in her stomach” again, the Rio native already says that she is reading some scripts.

The artist, who is gaining more and more space on the international scene, recalls how the Brazilian music industry tried to discourage the idea of ​​investing in a career outside the country, saying that she could try to be an international artist, but it would be impossible since the last person to achieve this feat was Carmen Miranda. “Impossible? That word just makes me want to move on.””, he declares.

In March of this year, the single “Envolver” exploded on a global scale. The track from his latest studio album, “Versions of Me“, which pays homage to his career, reached the top of the Global Daily Chart of Spotify, transforming Anitta not only into the first Brazilian, but also the first Latin solo artist to achieve the feat. She remembers being sure that the album would be big, but her record company didn't believe it and wanted it to be a duet with a singer, “they said I couldn’t make it happen alone”, reveals. The record label, Warner Music Latina, denied comment.

Born in Honório Gurgel, Rio, Anitta is now planning a special trip to celebrate her 30th birthday in March 2023.
