Atlético Mineiro defeats Cuiabá and wins the first away from home

Atlético Mineiro beat Cuiabá, at Arena Pantanal, by 4X0. In a regular first half, Galo took better advantage of the opportunities and at 13, in a good plot, scored the first goal of the match, from Hyoran’s feet. Cuiabá, despite having its fans, did not bother the visitors in the first half. Right at the beginning of the second stage, Hulk scored his, with a penalty, opening the way for the rout. In the 26th minute, the striker assisted Pavón to save. Paulinho, breaking fast, scored, closing the numbers of the game, by 4X0. With the victory, Atlético closes the fifth round of the Brasileirão, with 7 points, in the fight between the ten best of the general table. Cuiabá is in the relegation zone, with 4 points and in position 17.

It was coach Eduardo Coudet’s chance to balance work on and off the field, for a balance for the Minas Gerais team, which had not yet been achieved this season. The team returns to the field this Saturday (13), at home, against the contested Internacional de Porto Alegre, by coach Mano Menezes, defeated in Beira Rio, by Athletico Pananaense. Cuiabá takes on a quarry, on the same day, away from home in the middle of Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro, against the trendy Fluminense, by Fernando Diniz. Cuiabá, with this campaign, is the clear favorite to compete in the Brazilian series B, in 2024.

The poor results of coach Ivo Vieira’s team led the club’s board to opt for the resignation of the Portuguese commander, still in the heat of the locker room.
