AWAKENING reveals gameplay details

During Summer Game Fest, Bandai Namco Entertainment America released a brand new trailer that shows protagonist Haroona in action, and boy is it insane!

First of all, let me introduce you to Haroona: she's like that friend who knows everything from a parallel universe called Dobra. Imagine a mix of Neo from The Matrix and Goku from Dragon Ball, only more mystical.

Haroona, voiced by the talented Anya Chalotra (yes, Yennefer from The Witcher!), is on this crazy mission to avenge the death of her mentor, Reika, and also save humanity from the clutches of villains known as Ascendants. What a ride, right?

Haroona's Journey

Haroona was trained by the wise Reika, who taught her everything about the Bending. She thinks of Reika as a witty version of Master Roshi, but without the obsession with seashells and with a more serious vibe. She prepared Haroona to understand and use the powers of this other dimension, including stories of enigmatic immortal figures, the Unknown 9.

The Fold and the Ascendants

In the UNKNOWN 9: AWAKENING universe, the Fold is a parallel dimension full of secret powers and mysteries. Haroona must master this unique connection to bring these powers to our world. But, of course, the greater the power, the greater the confusion!

The Ascended, a splinter faction of the Leap Year Society (what a name, huh?), want to use the Fold to change the course of human history. Haroona, with her Bending powers, is the only one capable of stopping these people.
