“Emily in Paris” references Kate Middleton last season

The first episodes of the fourth season of Emily in Paris have already arrived on Netflix this month and are full of interesting references to the world of fashion. In one of the released episodes, a clear reference to an outfit worn by Kate Middleton appeared in the series and caught the attention of the most attentive fans.

Understanding the reference to the Princess of Wales

In a scene that takes place in the first episode, Mindy, the protagonist Emily's best friend, wore an outfit inspired by Middleton's distinctive style. In the plot, the outfit Mindy wears is designed by the JVMA brand, exclusive to the series, and the character played by Lilly Collins even makes a direct reference to the Princess of Wales in the scene. When she sees her friend's outfit, played by Ashley Park, Emily jokes that the look is a little more “Kate Middleton” than her friend usually chooses when it comes to dressing.

The outfit in question, which references Middleton, is a pink dress. According to Netflix, the blazer is by the haute couture brand Balmain. The choice of the brand is no coincidence. In 2023, Kate Middleton wore a green button-down blazer to a Wimbledon tennis tournament in London, very similar to the one in the series and which was also designed by Pierre Balmain.

Season four

The fourth season of Emily in Paris arrived on Netflix this August. Divided into two parts, the first five episodes of the season were available on Thursday, the 15th, on the streaming service. The second batch of episodes is scheduled to arrive on the platform on September 10th, with five episodes.
