Ptala Barreiros looks beautiful at the NY Gala

The look chosen for the event brings a Brazilian and representative touch to the prestigious international event – the dress was entirely made in gold crochet, made 100% by hand by Brazilian artisans and ex-convicts, who live in the Northeast and have been crocheting since they were little, being the crochet work is the only income available to them. The dress takes 20 to 30 days to be ready and is made by the Brazilian brand Mhar Handmand.

The cause that this dress carries was the starting point for being chosen for the big event, but it also opens doors for the concept of crochet to be broader in fashion. ''In addition to all the visibility of Brazilian work, the chosen dress came to demystify the idea that crochet is something only for the sea and the beach. I want to represent Brazil in all its forms!'', comments the influencer.
