Rates of children not vaccinated against Covid-19 are alarming

On Friday (28) some cases were recorded in data from the Ministry of Health that 13.4 million children aged between 11 months and 6 years did not have records on their vaccination card, vaccinations against Covid-19.

Ministry of Health is concerned about the number of children who have not been vaccinated. The number of children who are not vaccinated is half of those in this age group, in June there were 1328 cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in children.

What does the WHO say?

The number of unvaccinated children aged 11 months to 6 years is a cause for concern, as 13.4 million children have not received doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. This, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is something that needs to be urgently resolved, in the case of a new virus, the lack of vaccines leaves children without protection. Children who have not been vaccinated can contract some other type of virus or even variants of Covid-19 because they are vulnerable.

In addition to this contingent, there are 6.7 million children who took one dose of the vaccine, but who did not complete their vaccination cards with all doses. As of June 15, 1,328 cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) were confirmed in children, with 29 deaths, according to the latest epidemiological report published by the Ministry of Health, which also says that this scenario is not compatible with the vaccine scenario available in Brazil. Many of the causes of the few children vaccinated would be the fear of possible reactions that they could cause in the child.
