Meghan Markle talks about the phone call that changed her life during a difficult time

Meghan Markle, 41, has released the fifth episode of her podcast, Archetypes. The show featured Deepika Padukone, Jenny Slate and Constance Wu. The topic was about the word “crazy” and how it is used to discredit women.

At one point in the conversation, actress Deepika opened up about her mental health struggles and how she tries every day not to go “back to that dark place again.”

After praising Deepika for seeking the help she needed, Meghan spoke about a time in her life when she went through a “terrible state” and said that her husband Harry found a specialized professional who she could call and ask for help.

The woman was shopping at the grocery store when she answered the call and didn't even know who was on the other end of the line. “You could hear the terrible state he was in”Meghan said.

“I could hear the little beep and I said, 'Hi.' I introduced myself and I could hear her saying, 'Excuse me, who is this?' I was saying I needed help, she could hear the terrible state I was in.”remembered.

The Duchess of Sussex has spoken out about her mental health on several occasions. In her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey, she even said that she had suicidal thoughts during her pregnancy with her son, Archie.
Prince Harry also struggles with his mental health and has released a documentary series on the subject, called “The Me You Can't See”, available on Apple TV+.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is an American actress and the current wife of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and is a member of the British royal family. During her marriage to Harry, she had two children: Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, aged 1, and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, aged 3.
