Miley Cyrus reveals all the stages of her career and surprises with new release

In a track released today (25), entitled “Used To Be Young”, Miley Cyrus recalls all the phases of her career and brings reflections on changes and maturity. The release marks a turning point in Miley's career after the success of “Endless Summer Vacation” and the beginning of a new phase.

The audiovisual representation in a close-up is focused on Miley's face and expressions, as she becomes emotional while singing. She also appears wearing a Mickey Mouse t-shirt, referencing her Disney era, as well as a short red jumpsuit on top, which references her style in the “Bangerz” era, a time when she wore a lot of short jumpsuits in performances and used a lot of red in her looks and makeup.

We also notice a play of light that illuminates the artist's face to represent the moments when she was in the spotlight and in others it goes completely dark, taking the focus off Miley's face, leaving only the shadow. In the final minutes, she changes her expressions and ends the video smiling.

Fun facts about the launch

The choice of the release date was also not by chance, since according to Miley herself, August 25th is a very important date for her. It was on this same date, in 2013, that the controversial performance at the VMAs took place and the beginning of the “Bangerz” era, with the release of “Wrecking Ball”, when she went through a rebranding total in order to boldly disassociate his ex-Disney image.

At the time, the drastic change was the target of much criticism from the media and caused some fans who were used to Hannah Montana to turn away. Now in “Used To Be Young”, Miley says goodbye to the rebellious phase of her youth, showing in the lyrics the duality of what people said about her and what she really felt at the time.
