Rapper Kendrick Lamar points to the duo Tasha and Tracie as one of his references

The Brazilian rapper duo, formed by twins Tasha and Traciecontinue to conquer the national and international rap scene. Proof of this was the publication made by Kendrick Lamar, one of the most influential rappers of today, on his private Instagram, released to the public this Friday (15).

In the post, despite there being no captions, it is clear that there is admiration for the aesthetics adopted by the artists in their works, mainly due to the fact that the entire carousel of images are about references. See the following post:

The image released in question is an excerpt from Tasha and Tracie's music video on their EP “Board of Directors”released in December 2021. The production expresses a lot of the culture of the outskirts, in addition to the carnival aesthetics that rappers use and abuse in their music and audiovisual productions.

The audiovisual in question was produced by NOa visual artist who has signed with major brands such as C&A, Facebook, YouTube and Doritos. Watch the music video for “Board of Directors” Next:

It is worth mentioning that Kendrick is one of the biggest names, if not the biggest, in the current rap scene. Not only that, but his latest release, the album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers”won the award for best performance at the last Grammy Awards “Best Rap Album”. Kendrick is a reference for most international and national rappers, in addition to having many fans in Brazil and being extremely sought after at festivals, but, despite the demand, there has still been no confirmation regarding possible shows in the country.

Furthermore, the twins released, taking advantage of Valentine's Day, a new EP on the 8th, called “Yin Yang”. The EP is a collaboration with their respective boyfriends, Kyan and Gregory, and explores the nuances of a romantic relationship. The publication brought to light how the national rap scene, not only in terms of music but also in terms of production of references, has been growing and becoming increasingly admired. Now, we are waiting for a partnership between the artists.
