Zayn and Ingrid To Begin Again

A lot of peace in just one song! The video for To Begin Againcollaboration between Zayn Malik and Ingrid michaelson. The feat between the singers was released on the 17th and had already won the hearts of fans around the world. With optimistic and hopeful lyrics, To Begin Again shows the vocal rapport between Zayn and Ingridalthough they do not know each other personally.

The music video, following the same aesthetic and vibe presented in the song, shows diversity and genuine happiness in the daily life of a busy city. Its main focus was to highlight the joy in small details that often go unnoticed by the hurried eye, in addition to, of course, showing the art of starting over.

Although Ingrid and Zayn do not appear prominently throughout the work, the clip has inspiring photography, featuring many smiles and various forms of urban art.

Zayn recorded his parts for the video at Hopetown Sound, a recording studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In addition to “To Begin Again”the studio is credited in 5 of the artist's songs, namely “Entertainer”, “Flight of the Stars”, “If I Got You”, “Rainberry” and “Insomnia”.

In addition to all the beauty displayed throughout the duration of the video clip, it features “Sony 360 Reality Audio” technology, which consists of a high-resolution music platform, making the song heard even more realistic and immersive.

Malik was the one who took the initiative! Big fan of Ingridthe singer, together with his team, contacted Michaelson looking for a collaboration:

“So basically I didn't know much about Zayn, I knew his music, I knew him obviously because he's Zayn. I didn't know he was a shy, withdrawn person. You know him as a snow leopard, you know, but you don't see him. His secretary contacted mine at the beginning of last year (2020) and said he was interested in a collaboration, and asked if we were working on something. I remember my secretary emailing me, and I was like, 'What makes Zayn want this?' I wasn't doubting myself, but 'Why would Zayn want to do a song with me?' Apparently he's a big fan and blah blah blah (…)” detailed Ingridin an interview with IHeart.

The musical process between the two was quick and fluid, she reported, during the interview:

“Let’s go to November, and I wrote this song. It just came out of me and I needed a second verse, I sent it to my friend and she was like, ‘This is something.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know.’… And I remember when Zayn got to us, we sent it and got back to him, he sent it to his secretary straight away. They were like, ‘He loves it, he wants to do it.’ And I was like, ‘Awesome!’ So, you know, within half a month we had the track back with his vocals and it was amazing. I’m so honored that he lent his voice to it because I feel like he’s a private kid and he just creates things that he wants to create.” finished.
