New Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Reveals Takeda Takahashi

He will join the main cast on the day July 23 for those who have the Kombat Pack, and everyone will be able to play with it from July 30th.

Oh, and there's more: Ferra, the new Partner Fighter, is also available to help beat up your opponents!

History of Takeda

Check out Takeda's story: he was raised by the Yakuza, unlike his cousin Kenshi, who left that life behind. But Takeda enjoyed the lifestyle and was sent to put an end to Kenshi's crusade. In this mess, he almost kicks the bucket and Kenshi takes him to the Shirai Ryu to save his cousin's skin. After being cured, Takeda tried to escape several times, but ended up liking the Shirai Ryu's altruistic ways. Determined to put an end to the underworld, he realized that the mess was much more complicated than he thought.

Takeda's Gameplay

In the new trailer, Takeda shows that he's here to rock: his Shirai Ryu-inspired moves include serrated whips to pull and throw opponents, explosive kunai projectiles to extend combos, and a ninja teleport to attack opponents from behind. That's a lot of power, man!

Ferra as a Partner Fighter

Ferra arrives as a Partner Fighter, bringing a variety of support moves to help during fights. She will be available in the Kombat Pack and can also be purchased separately starting July 23.

Exclusivity at EVO 2024

Kombat Pack

The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack comes with the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage (available now) and early access to six new playable characters: Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander (available now) and Takeda Takahashi. It also has five new Partner Fighters. If you already own the Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1, the Kombat Pack is included, but you can also purchase it separately.
