5 best X-Men games

We will soon have an open world game with Wolverine and recently we had a new X-Men animation based on the 90s cartoon, which filled fans with nostalgia. With that in mind, we decided to select 5 of the best mutant games.

1 – X-Men vs Street Fighter

Starting this list with one of the most classic X-Men games, the crossover with Street Fighter was released in 1996 for arcades and later received conversions for the Sega Saturn and Playstation. Acquiring great popularity, the game gained a sequel, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter.

2 – X-Men: Legends II – Rise of Apocalypse

Rise of Apocalypse is an action RPG developed by Raven Software and published by Activision. It is set after the events of X-Men Legends and the main villain is Apocalypse. A commercial success, the game entered the PlayStation 2 Greatest Hits. At the time it received favorable reviews, praising the cooperative gameplay and even online multiplayer, something unusual for the time.

3 – X-Men: The Arcade Game

The character designs are inspired by the 1989 X-Men cartoon. Considered an Arcade classic, in it we can control Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler or Dazzler. The objective is to prevent the villain Magneto from wreaking havoc on human civilization, and to do so we face an army of Sentinels. It's true that the game is a little repetitive and the difficulty level is a little high to “cheat” players, but it's a lot of fun.

4 – X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

This is a classic based on film of the same name for various platforms such as PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Developed in Unreal Engine, it is a hack and slash adventure that tells the story of the feature film, but also with new elements. At the time it received mixed reviews, but is well appreciated by players.

5 – Mutant Apocalypse

A typical game that many rented in video stores in the nineties, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is an action game developed by Capcom in which we can control Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Psylock and Wolverine, each one having their own unique abilities and phases. It was praised for its good graphics for the Super Nintendo and its small size. Great to spend the afternoon.
