Caio Castro returns to the Porsche Cup with a project in honor of Ayrton Senna

After a season racing in the main truck competition on the planet and having achieved exciting podiums, Caio Castro is back in the Porsche Cup, Porsche's first single-brand series in South America, in the Sprint Challenge category, alongside his victorious Red team Ram, responsible for epic achievements, such as first place in Interlagos, in 2021.

On his return to the competition, throughout this year, Caio and his team will pay homage to the automobile career of Ayrton Senna, the greatest Brazilian driver of all time, through several actions during the 2024 tournament, in an exciting and unprecedented celebration to the 30-year legacy of the three-time world champion.

Project Details

During a press conference held this Thursday, 29th, in São Paulo, Caio Castro gave details about the project and presented, in a show of lights and holograms, the different looks of the cars he will drive in honor of Ayrton. At each stage, the driver will wear a jumpsuit, helmet and car layout inspired by the four teams that Ayrton Senna drove.

Passing through Toleman, the team where Ayrton made his debut in the 1984 season; then in the Lótus car, model 98T, in which the Formula 1 driver raced in 1986; then in Team Lótus Camel, an iconic car, equipped with a Honda engine, in 1987; and finally, in the Mclaren, a 1988 model, in which Ayrton was champion. At all these moments, there will be surprises and an effects show so that the cars are in line with each moment of Ayrton Senna's racing career, being the greatest tribute ever paid to the legendary three-time Formula 1 champion.

After the end of the season, which will feature an international stage in Portugal, Caio Castro and his team will promote a charity auction with the parts used by the driver in each stage, with proceeds going to the Ayrton Senna Institute and Mangueira's social project.
