“We arrived at a club that is not yet at the start of the season, but football is dynamic. If the other coach had not had bad results, we would not be here. The situation we are in requires great dynamism and responsibility, and everyone wants to improve, everyone is working 100% to recover. The players understand that they have a great responsibility towards the club and the fans. There is no time to waste.”

Ramón Díaz also added that the players are understanding the situation the team is in and that they need to play differently to get the good results that have not been happening. The Argentine also said that the young players will have to grow during the season and that they will even need to be more aggressive.

Coach comments on Vasco

Ramón Díaz has signed a contract with Corinthians until the end of 2025. The coach has been without a contract with any club since April of this year, when he was fired, alongside his son, from Vasco da Gama, after a 4-0 defeat in the Brazilian Championship to Criciúma at São Januário. The turbulent departure from the Cruz-Maltino club was also an issue in the presentation at the new club.

According to the coach, Vasco did not even say goodbye after the club made the decision. Neither president Pedrinho, nor the directors, nor the club's former football management company, 777, contacted the coach to say goodbye or thank him for his time at the club. At the time, Vasco claimed that the coach resigned immediately after the defeat in the match.
