Nubank surpasses 100 million customers across Latin America

Nubank made a statement this Wednesday, 8th, informing that it surpassed the number of 100 million customers in 3 countries in Latin America, being the first digital bank to reach this milestone outside of Asia. The bank gained 7 million users in 2023 and made a profit of more than US$1 billion.

Unbridled growth

In 2023, Nubank reached 92 million customers in Brazil, 7 million in Mexico and 1 million in Colombia. Thus, exceeding US$8 billion in revenue and US$1 billion in profit.

In a press release, the president of Nubank, David Vélez recalled that the bank's objective was to reach 1 million customers in 2013 and celebrates: ““In a decade, we exceeded 100 million, which is a testimony to the trust that our customers place in us, and also the power of a truly customer-centric business model.”

In Brazil, only three banks have more than 100 million customers: Itaú, Bradesco and Caixa. Even though this does not mean that all of these are active in banks, Nubank is increasingly closer to these banking companies, which are in the Brazilian market. for more than 8 decades, as is the case with Bradesco.

The fintech will share the new financial statement for the first quarter of 2024 on May 14th, the expectation is that growth will increase even more in the last year, increasing its share of the national market.

Celebration in Las Vegas

To celebrate the milestone of 100 million users, the company will run a campaign telling customers' stories, called “You at the center of everything”, the advertising shows the faces of several Nubank customers in the Exosphere, a giant sphere made of panels of LED in Las Vegas.

The idea is to transform the purple particles into the faces of people who have been part of the bank in the last 10 years, demonstrating that Nubank is made up of individuals.
