Jão releases “Super” and breaks Spotify record with more than 8.5 million streams in 24 hours

Jão's fourth album was released to the public last Monday (14) after a long wait and high expectations from fans. Titled “Super”, the album debuted on the platforms of streaming and reached the mark of more than 8.5 million streams on Spotify within the first 24 hours of release.

The brand set a new national release record, and made the album “Super” the biggest debut on Spotify Brazil based on the numbers achieved. On Instagram, Jão thanked for the milestone achieved this morning (16).

The record

At 28 years old and on his fourth album, Jão takes the record for best national debut from Veigh, who held the record for “Dos Prédios Deluxe”. Previously, Anitta had also achieved the feat with “Versions of Me”.

The record serves to further consecrate the phase the artist is going through: Jão is considered the biggest male name in pop today, after three albums that led him to win over a legion of fans and achieve Gold, Platinum and Diamond certifications for his singles and albums.

The title of biggest national debut on Spotify Brazil almost became the biggest overall debut on the platform in Brazil, as on the international scene, “Chromatica”, by Lady Gaga, had 7.7 million streams on its debut on Spotify Brazil.

“Super”

The fourth album ends a cycle with the three previous albums, in which each one complements the others, and is related to an element of the zodiac: “Pirate” (water), “Anti-Hero” (air) and “Wolves” (earth), and now, we have “Super” to represent fire, clearly represented in the single “Me Lambe”.

“Super” sums up the artist’s current great moment, and comes after the “Pirata” tour, which toured Brazil and Portugal. It also brings back sounds like country, rock and upbeat hits, and ends with a flourish the cycle of albums that mark the artist’s twenty years.
