It was released this Friday (19) “Viva Las Vengeance”, band's seventh studio album Panic! at the Disco. This is the group’s first project, led by Brendon Urie, since “Pray for the wicked” in 2018. The album features 12 tracks: the title song and the singles “Middle of a breakup” It is “Don't let the light go out”, that had already been released to the public. Urie declared to billboard that the songs were recorded live and completely on tape, work carried out in partnership with Mike Viola and Jake Sinclair in Los Angeles.
“Long live Las Vengeance” is inspired by the band's own style in the early 2000s. Brendon Urie, still in an interview with billboard, he said that the end result is a retrospective of what he was like 17 years ago, with a more careful perspective. After the release of this album, Panic! at the Disco will be an attraction at the Video Music Awards 2022, where the song “Middle of a breakup”, in addition to competing for the award in the alternative video category for the music video for “Long live Las Vengeance”.

The new album divided opinions, while the band's fans are happy with the resumption of the original aesthetic and excited about the end of the four-year hiatus, critics did not receive the work with the same excitement, being described by Rolling Stone as generic and average. The magazine highlights the complex lyrics of some songs that address Brendon Urie's personal life, his drug abuse problem and his fights with former band members. On the other hand, he says that the lyrics that address more sentimental themes do not present anything new, and highlights that the potential was not used.
Despite expectations, critics do not believe that “Long live Las Vengeance” will achieve the same success achieved with “I write sins not tragedies” and others hits from the same time.
