New single from singer Jimin is announced

BTS' Jimin's record label announced this Wednesday, the 20th, the release of the singer's new solo single, called “Closer than this”. The new song will arrive on digital platforms next Friday, December 22nd.

BIGHIT Music, announced on its social networks the date of Jimin's new release with the following message: “''Closer Than This' is a song for fans, summing up Jimin's genuine feelings for ARMY. As we approach the final days of 2023, We hope that 'Closer Than This', with its lyrics expressing Jimin's love and affection for his fans, brings you hope and warmth.”.

BTS is on hiatus while its members serve their mandatory service in the South Korean military. Jimin reported for training this December, and will serve alongside his bandmate, Jeon Jungkook.

After the success of “Face”

In March of this year, Jimin released his first solo album, titled “Face”. In the first week of its release, “Face” has already reached the mark of more than 1 million copies sold. At the time, Jimin spoke about his work: “My music is very personal, but it also celebrates something universal: the idea of ​​love and connection.“.

The six songs on the album “Face” they are: “Face-off”, “Interlude: Dive”, “Like Crazy”, “Alone”, “Set Me Free Pt. 2” and “Like Crazy (English Version)”. According to Jimin himself, in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, “Like Crazy” – the album’s lead song – was inspired by the film of the same name (“Madly in love”, 2011): “I thought it would be very romantic and sweet, but it’s actually a very realistic and stark depiction of a breakup. So when we were talking about the title track, this movie suddenly came to mind and I thought it would fit well with the kind of music we wanted to make.”

Despite the hiatus due to military service, BTS continues with their musical activities during the break.
