Reboot is renewed for a third season

The series “Bel-Air” is shown on the streaming services of Peacock, property of NBCUniversal, in the United States. The idea for the revival of the series came about after a trailer from a fan of “Fresh prince of Bel Air“, which ended up going viral on the internet, and caught the attention of Will Smith.

Morgan Coopercreated and directed the trailer reinventing the series into a contemporary drama, inspiring Will Smith to bring his projector to life, directing the reboot. So far, the series has been pleasing the public so much that the renewal for Season 3 has been confirmed.

The second season is currently airing and the final episodes will be broadcast on April 27th.

“Bel-Air” tells the story of Willl (Jabari Banks), who moved from West Philadelphia to live with the two rich men in elegant and electrifying Los Angeles. Unlike the original version, the reboot It's more dramatic than the 90s version.

With the arrival of the new showrunner, Carla Banks Waffles, at the beginning of the second season the series increased its chances of being renewed. In an official statement Carla comments on the second season saying “In the second, the series will continue to find ways to innovate and feel fresh and unique, while at the same time embodying the heart of the series' legacy.“.

Banks continued “Last season was a lot about introducing us to the world of the Banks family, and this season we're going to delve deeper into some of the themes we've covered – what it really means to be a family, even when it's challenging. We'll also explore Will's character, beyond him feeling like a fish out of water. He is now struggling to find a balance between maintaining his independence and his West Philly identity while also being open to new opportunities for himself in Bel-Air. Viv and Phil are also trying to find a balance as a country of teenagers who think they have all the answers – allowing Will and his children the freedom to make their own decisions, while also providing guidance with a gentle and sometimes firm hand.“.
