Zayn reveals details of his upcoming single “What I Am”

A new phase is about to begin. This Thursday (7), Zayn shared exciting details about his next single, titled “What I Am”, which will be released on March 15 on digital platforms. Check out the preview released by the artist on X:

About the release of “What I Am”

In the single that will be part of his new album, he reflects on his attitudes in love, asking himself: “Am I acting impulsively? Am I being naive? Am I hurting myself by playing these games with you?“. This revelation comes shortly after the singer-songwriter's new album was announced.

It is worth remembering that Zayn's last work was “Love Like This”, released in July 2023, marking his return after the album “Nobody Is Listening” (2021), and also the beginning of his partnership with the label Mercury Records. In addition to these releases, Zayn was the author of “Icarus Falls” in 2018 and “Mind of Mine”, his debut album in 2016, a year after his departure from the boyband One Direction in 2015. He was the first to leave the group.

The new album

According to Rolling Stone, the co-producer of his new album will be Dave Cobbs, recognized in country music. Singer Zayn also narrated in the publication of his new album: “I think the intention behind this album is for the listener to have more information about me personally as a human being — my ambitions, my fears and for them to have a connection with that.”

“And that's why it's so raw, you know? It's just me writing this. I didn't want anyone else to come between me and the music, and the music and the people who listen to it”, he concluded. Although he did not reveal the title or release date, he made it clear in a teaser that the project seeks a personal and genuine connection with its audience.
