Matrix and John Wick actor Keanu Reeves says he wants to play Batman

In a statement to People, an American celebrity magazine, Keanu Reeves declared his interest in playing a more mature version of Batman. The actor, who is approaching 60 years old, also made it clear that it has always been his dream to bring the Batman to life. Check out the statement: “It’s always been a dream, but Robert Pattinson has Batman now, and he’s doing really well. So maybe in the future. Maybe when they need an older Batman.”

With its premiere scheduled for the 28th, Keanu gave the voice to Bruce Wayne, Batman, in the animation “DC League of Super Pets”, the closest the actor has come so far to fulfilling his wish, a character who is also the guardian of Ace, the Bat-dog, who is voiced by Kevin Hart.

The film is aimed at children and portrays the animals who help fight crime in Metropolis, Superman's city, and are also destined to save their guardians, the Justice League, after being kidnapped by Lex Luthor. In addition to Reeves and Hart, the film also features Dwayne Johnson as Krypto, Superman's super-dog. Check out the trailer:

In March of that year, “Batman” premiered and a new lineage was started, with the superhero played by the British Robert Pattinson, with a darker character and without following the common sense of other films of the hero, since the beginnings of the character as a vigilante were not shown.

The plot also addressed the Waynes' unknown past, the mental health of Martha, Bruce's mother, and Thomas, the father, as the mastermind behind the murder of a journalist who threatened to expose Mrs. Wayne's condition to the public, aligned himself with Falcone and denounced him, which caused the murder of Bruce's parents. With a confirmed sequel and scheduled to premiere in less than five years, information released by producer Dylan Clark, series will be launched focusing on Gotham and the Penguin, played in the last film by Colin Farrell.

With several films under his belt, Keanu became popular for his performance as Thomas Anderson/Neo in “The Matrix” in 1999. In 2003, “The Matrix Reloaded” premiered, and six months after the second release, “The Matrix Revolutions” premiered. In 2021, the fourth film in the “Matrix Resurrections” franchise was released. Reeves also played John Constantine in the 2005 film “Constantine”, and on some occasions when the subject was addressed, he showed a desire to carry out a new project with the character. With John Wick, a hitman, Keanu started a new project with several sequels being developed. In 2014, the first “John Wick” premiered, in 2017 “John Wick”, in 2019 “John Wick 3-Parabellum”, and the fourth film is scheduled to premiere in March 2023.
