Finale of “Loki 2” will have no hook for next season, says Marvel executive

According to Marvel executive Kevin Wright, the second season of Loki, which has its episodes released weekly on Disney+, will conclude the story told since the first season. In an interview with Deadline, Wright stated that the end of this season does not provide a cliffhanger for the next one.

“We don’t have a hook. We want to be able to deliver a beginning, middle and end to the public. I think it will be an exciting and unexpected ending, in other words: everything people love about this series. We have always seen them as two parts of the same book, which is now closed” explained the executive.

However, this does not mean the end of the series. According to Wright, “Loki 2” will conclude the plot covered so far, but “there are other stories to be told there, but I think they would be new books”.

“Loki” will meet “Thor” in the MCU

Kevin has always planned a reunion between the brothers “Loki” and “Thor”, who were last seen in “Avengers: Endgame”. In an interview with Variety, the Marvel executive stated that the gods could be together in the studio's future productions.

“That’s the hope. I don't want to – yes. I think the sun shining on Loki and Thor once again has always been the priority of the story we tell. But for this encounter to be truly rewarding, we have to emotionally take Loki to a certain place. I think that’s been the goal of these two seasons.” Kevin explained.

“Loki” presents future releases

The Marvel executive also told Deadline the possibility of the “Loki” plot, as happened with other series from the studio, creating a “bridge” to future releases. According to Wright, the implications for the story of “Loki” will be addressed in new projects.

“AVT is an organization that continues to have stories to tell”, says Kevin.

In an interview with Variety, the executive complemented the possibility, stating that, although “Loki” only addresses the Mobius department, the AVT universe is infinite and he hopes that other people from Marvel studios want to use this story.
