Elon Musk loses a position on Forbes' new list of the 10 richest

Forbes magazine released last Monday (01) an update of its real-time and annual list of the richest individuals in the world. The list featured Bernard Arnault, owner of the holding and luxury brand conglomerate LVMH, occupying the first position on the list and displacing Elon Musk. The list also revealed that there are a total of 2,781 billionaires in the world, with 141 more than last year.

List details

China is currently the country with the most billionaires with 473 billionaires, followed by India with 200. Forbes used stock prices and exchange rates as of March 8, 2024 to calculate the wealth of individuals and prepare the list.

In first place is the businessman, owner of LVMH, a conglomerate of luxury brands in France. Elon Musk, who was the richest person in the world for a long time, is second on the list, with a net worth of US$195 billion. Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, also bought Twitter, now X, for US$44 million in 2022.

In addition to Bernard and Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was named third on the list with a net worth of US$195 billion, followed by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who ranks fourth with a net worth of US$195 billion. $177 billion.

The drop in Musk's assets is also due to the complicated relationship that the businessman has with advertisers on the social network X. According to Forbes, the social media company is worth 70% less than the amount paid by Musk at the end of 2022 .
