Airbus CEO expresses concern about the sector due to the problems faced by Boeing
–Last Tuesday (19), the CEO of Airbus, Guillaume Faury, commented on the problems faced by his company’s biggest competitor, Boeing, stating that these problems are harmful to the sector as a whole, not limited to just for the competitor. Boeing has faced technical problems related to the production of its planes, mainly with safety. The company has been the target of criticism and mistrust since January, when a port plug came loose on one of its 737 MAX 9 jets during an Alaska Airlines flight. In addition to this incident, Boeing issued a statement warning all companies that use the 787 Dreamliners to check the cockpit switches, after a Latam Airlines aircraft made a sudden dive in the air, leaving around 50 people injured.

Guillaume Faury’s statement
At a conference that took place this week in the city of Berlin, “Europe 2024”, the CEO of Airbus was asked about the events that occurred with Boeing, the answer to which follows in full: “I’m not happy with my competitor’s problems. They are not good for the industry as a whole. We are in an industry where quality and safety are top priority”. In addition to Guillaume, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire also stated that this is a delicate moment for Boeing and that he “prefers” Airbus’ situation to the detriment of its competitor.
The impact on the sector and Embraer
Last week, due to the events with Boeing, the bank Morgan Stanley released a report in which it evaluates Embraer as the “top pick” for the aircraft sector, especially at a time when “demand for aircraft exceeds supply”. Still in relation to the report, there is also a statement about the company’s prestige and its broad portfolio with different products for the most varied needs, leaving the company in a good position in the market given the problems with the other two companies specialized in the sector, possibly breaking up their duopoly.
