“Super Freaky Girl” breaks record on Spotify

Nicki Minaj is back with everything, she has just released her single “Super Freaky Girl” and is on Spotify's most listened to songs list, updated this Saturday (August 13), and the results are fantastic for the rapper. She has not only achieved great status but also breaks records!

“Super Freaky Girl” is now the best debut song by a (female) rapper with a solo song on the US and global Spotify charts! We couldn't expect anything less from her, right? In the US, it narrowly missed out on first place, but second place was well received! With 1,573,025 streams there, it's an acclaimed show, good enough to break records.

On Spotify Global, adding up the performance of all countries where the platform is available, the premieres are a little lower. #13 with 3,021,816 reproductions. Borrowing an excerpt from Rick James' 80s hit “Super Freak”, Nicki Minaj declares herself “Super Freaky Girl” in her new single, check out the video's lyric.

It's already Minaj's fourth single of the year, following “Do We Have a Problem?”, “Bussin” (both with Lil Baby) and “We Go Up” (fivio Foreign). Currently, the rapper has not yet confirmed the release of an album. In a recent statement, Nicki Minaj admitted that she was very concerned about whether her songs would perform well on the charts. Now, that mentality has changed. She just wants to please her fans, they really matter.

“I think at some point I might be thinking too much, but I realize how important it is to enjoy life, as I always say: live in the moment. Try to be in the moment. And do your best”, said rap.

She made it very clear that she only wanted to give her fans good music, regardless of reviews and chart results, “I don't really worry about it anymore. I used to. But now I realize that I just need to give my fans the music they love and give them a reason to start caring about me. I will believe this. I will not depend on others. Anything. I don't have any damn tricks.
